The first Stitch
We’re finally here, the very beginning, February 2023 and our creatively crafty project of TheThreadBox.co.uk is started.
A passion for thread has lead us to this point and it is what shall guide us forward in what we hope will be a wonderous journey filled with threads, Yarns & Cords in the most wonderful variety of colours to fulfil your crafting desires.
The start of the project
The very start of our project comes in the form of a soft launch store, we have full functionality in that products exist, they can be ordered and paid for through our store and we will process the orders as they should be.
Why is this a soft launch I hear you cry? and for that matter what is a soft launch!
Well, for us a soft launch is firing our site live with a fraction of the products we have available. We’ll be using this to test the functionality of our store, the processes we have in place and everything else that goes on behind the screens, on the screens and with other service providers to ensure everything is running smoothly.
After this initial phase, we’ll be adding further products from other brands and increasing the offering we have available. During this time we’ll also be trialing other features of the site, providing more options to save and more options for crafting goodness. Eventually this culmination of increased products, increased functionality will result in an official launch date.
What will be available and when?
To begin with you’ll find a whole selection of different thread, yarn & cord options from the marvellous manufacturer Anchor. We chose Anchor to start with as we feel they offer one of the widest variety of options reaching a number of different crafting practices. With options for sewing, embroidery, tapestry, machine embroidery, crochet, knitting & macrame, they cover numerous crafting possibilities allowing us to run a number of product options to really get to grips with the navigation around our store.
After this initial launch with just Anchor, we’re going to be bringing in the wonders of Gutermann. Quite possibly the most well known and well respected sewing thread manufacturers around! They offer a tremendous selection of thread for all manner of sewing, machine embroidery & overlocking with both do it all threads & specialist options available, we have no doubt you’ll find the right thread for your crafting situation within their range.
As to what and who else will be available following this, well you’re just going to have to stay tuned to our blog, follow our social media pages and sign up to our newsletter. This and visiting our store will be the best way to keep yourself up to date with the 1000’s of products we’ve got coming to our store and the menagerie of quality crafting brands that will be available.
